Biography
Mr Lai has had extensive experience in private enterprise on Christmas Island as well as with the union movement. He accepted the appointment as Executive Chairman in March 2004. Mr Lai is a former president of the Union of Christmas Island Workers and has been involved in the phosphate industry for 27 years. He was also a founding director of Phosphate Resources Limited in 1991. Mr Lai has had extensive experience in private enterprise on Christmas Island as well as with the union movement.
