Biography
Bringing over 26 years of professional experience in a variety of settings, Chris McDonald was appointed Vice President-General Manager for the Longmont Manufacturing Center in August 2016 when AstraZeneca Biologics began finalizing negotiations with Amgen to purchase the former Amgen biologics manufacturing site. Previously, Chris spent 10 years working for Novartis Vaccines with positions of increasing responsibility. His last position was Vice President and General Manager of Novartis’ flu cell culture manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, NC. Prior to that, Chris spent 10 years working for Amgen in a variety of roles in engineering, manufacturing, and strategy. The majority of his Amgen career was in the Boulder and Longmont, Colorado manufacturing facilities. Chris began his career as an automation engineering consultant working in a variety of industries.
