Biography
"Dr Shane Jackson commenced a Doctorate in Pharmacy Practice in 2000 after graduating with a bachelor degree in Pharmacy in 1998. Completing his doctorate in 2004, he was awarded an inaugural National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS) Fellowship from 2004 to 2006. During that time, he became proprietor of Tasman Pharmacy at Nubeena (2004), and in 2010 opened a new pharmacy at South Arm also in Tasmania. While completing his postgraduate studies and operating the pharmacy businesses, Shane also worked extensively in aged and community care. Along with two other pharmacists, he established Consultant Pharmacy Services, a leading provider of medication review services to consumers in aged and community care settings. From 2006 to 2010 Shane was a Board Director of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, and from 2008 to 2014 he was the Tasmanian President of the Society. He is a Clinical Reference Lead with the Australian Digital Health Agency, a Director of the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy (AACP) and Chair of the Pharmacy Practitioner Development Committee.
