Biography
"I joined CQU School of Education and the Arts in February 2017. Before this I worked with Queensland Health since 2012 as the Health Services Representative on a Multi-agency Safer Streets Task Force - a ministerial body established to work with QPS, Department of Housing & Public Works, Department of Youth Justice, DATSIP, Department of Communities and Department of Education & Training on cross agency projects with a predominantly indigenous client group. For much of this time I also worked in Medical Education (as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer with James Cook University) in the delivery of the national curriculum for Junior Medical Officers. Prior to Queensland Health I joined Education Queensland at the close of 2008 as a senior teacher and Coordinator of the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Cairns State High School. From 2000 to the close of 2008 I spent nine years at James Cook University in a variety of educational and administrative roles including Director/Coordinator of Teaching and Learning, Academic Advisor and Senior Lecturer in Education. During this time I founded the FIRST Lego League National Robotics Competition in Australia that now encapsulates greater than 4,000 participants between the ages of 9 and 13 years across Australia. I arrived at James Cook University from Griffith University where I worked on the Nathan and Logan Campus sites as a Lecturer in Management and as a Lecturer in Commerce and Administration."
