Ms Jodie Riek

Biography

"Jodie has been involved in Early Childhood Education for more than twenty years, through a range of education environments including childcare, primary education, vocational and higher education. She began her career in Australia, as an assistant in a childcare centre, and for over ten years she worked in various teaching and management positions within the sector, including owning her own centre. Transitioning to public education in 2007, she began as a classroom teacher, and continued on to fulfill the roles of Teacher-Librarian, Digital Pedagogy Coach, Head of Mentoring and Deputy Principal. She completed a Masters degree in Educational Technology at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 2013, and is currently a doctoral student in Curriculum Studies. Jodie worked as an Early Childhood and Elementary Instructor at Oklahoma State University from 2012 through to the end of 2015, providing instruction in Math and Science; Integrated Curriculum; Student Teaching within the Early Childhood Education program; and Interdisciplinary Curriculum Design and Development. Jodie's professional interests include: early primary classrooms; early childhood education, play pedagogy, education policy and advocacy, mentor relationships for beginning teachers, early childhood professional development"
