Biography
Dr Mike Mouritz has more than 17 years executive level experience across a broad range of integrated urban planning roles in local and state government, and in the private sector as a consultant. He is currently working as an independent consultant. He was previously Director of Economic Development and City Futures, City of Canning, where he guided a team responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to strengthen the social, environmental and economic fabric of the City. Responsibilities have ranged from managing and instigating organisational change processes to running small specialised cross-agency teams responsible for developing significant catalyst urban development outcomes. Mike was Project Director for the development of Perth’s first 5 Star Green Star Office and retail complex - 140 William St (above Perth’s underground station, 2006) and the award-winning Kogarah Town Square project which at the time, in 2001, was Sydney’s greenest mixed use development. From 2008 to 2016, Mike was a Director with Foundation Housing Pty Ltd, Western Australia’s largest not-for-profit social housing provider. In this role he was Chair of the organisation’s Asset Management Committee.
