Biography
Having recently joined Curtin University after a move to Australia from Canada, Julia has pursued an international career in both the academic and corporate sector in Canada, Singapore, Japan and the UK. Her research expertise reflects her broader interest in contemporary careers and the implications for HRM practices and organizational performance. She is especially interested in themes relating to internationally mobile professionals, flexible and remote work practices and individual and organizational performance. A key concern in her recent work on these topics is their connection with short and longterm career sustainability. Her current research also includes a study of ex-professional athletes both during and after retirement from sport. Much of her work involves international collaboration with scholars in other universities, including colleagues in the USA, Canada and the UK. She is also a strong proponent of collaborating with junior scholars and doctoral researchers
