Biography
Marthe Monique Gagnon, PhD, researcher in Ecotoxicology. Research interests focus on the effects of industrial effluents on fish health, especially on the impacts of petroleum exploration and production on fish health. Other current research interests include chronic impacts of Oil Spills, pulp and paper effuents, endocrine disruption, and urban contamination. Contamination by specific chemicals are addressed (eg TBT), but also mixture of contaminants are investigated (eg endocrine disruptors, refineries' effluents).
Research Interest
Special research interests focus on the effects of accidental oil spills, and of petroleum explorationand production on fish health, endocrine disruptors, sewage treatment plants and urban runoffs, and the toxicity of drilling muds used in the petroleum exploration industry. In addition, the effects of anti-fouling chemicals on vertabrates and invertebrate populations are monitored.
