Biography
Matt has over 17 years experience working in the area of sexual health, both in education and therapy; specifically in the areas of sexual function and dysfunction, STIs, HIV/AIDS, diverse sexualities, sex and gender diversity, and men’s health issues. In addition to being a lecturer in the Department of Sexology, he is a clinical psychologist, and a Research Fellow, Collaboration for Evidence, Research and Impact in Public Health (CERIPH). He is involved in the sexological sector locally, nationally and internationally, and he holds the following positions: the WA Branch President and a national Director for the Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd.; a working group member of SiREN - A joint research focused group between the WA Department of Health and the Perth sexual health sector; a member of the Advisory Group for the Curtin Ally Program (a training program for Curtin staff & students with the aim of raising awareness and understanding regarding same-sex, gender, and intersexuality issues on campus); and was a previous member of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) Advisory Committee (2009-2013).
