Biography
Theodora comes to academia from the Financial World where she served as a High-Ranking Executive in an International Bank for several years. In academia, Theodora has been a curriculum leader and a leader of a range of research groups. Theodora Issa is a multi-award winner. In addition to her academic work in Australia, Theodora was invited to design and facilitate a course under the title Sustainable Development Business and Ethical Strategies for the Master of International Business program in Europe (six runs) which was aimed at international audience representing 23 countries. Theodora is the author and co-author of several journal articles, reports, edited books, text books, books, case studies, conference papers, conference proceedings, book chapters and magazine articles. Theodora’s major area of research focuses on ethical mindsets, spirituality, and aesthetics. She is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Ethics – A European Review (BE:ER), member of the Associate Editors team of Management, Religion and Spirituality, Annual Scholarly Program 2017 of Academy of Management and a guest co-editor for the special issue of Management Research in Review: Innovative Research Methods in Management, Spirituality and Religion through an invitation received from the Academy of Management, USA. In addition, Theodora is a co-chair and organiser of international conferences, co-editor of conference proceedings, a reviewer of several conference papers (e.g. Academy of Management, ANZAM etc…), and journals (e.g. Journal of Business Ethics, Business Ethics Quarterly, Emerald Business and Society etc…). Theodora has been appointed by the Vice Chancellor of Curtin University as the Academic Representative in the ‘System Change’ working group at the University level where she served between 2014 until the group has wrapped up in early 2017.
