Biography
Dr John Marshall is the Senior Scientist in the viral gastroenteritis and electron microscopy sections in Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL). John did his Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the Australian National University and then completed a PhD at Flinders University in 1977. He was appointed electron microscopist at Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital in 1977, and in the early 1980s, he established the Victorian Health Department viral gastroenteritis laboratory in addition to running the electron microscope laboratory. John was involved in the move of both laboratories to the VIDRL.
