Biography
Dr Megan Crane is a Research Fellow with Professor Sharon Lewin. She obtained her PhD in 2007 at Monash University in Immunology and has since been leading the Hepatitis B Virus Research group in Sharon’s group. Dr Crane currently co-supervises a PhD student, infectious diseases physician Dr Kasha Singh and supervises a research assistant part time. In the last five years she has mentored one PhD candidate and two Melbourne University Biomedical Science Honours students. The Hepatitis B Research group focuses on determining the drivers of liver disease progression in people with both HIV and hepatitis B. Their aim is to determine the direct and indirect effects of HIV infection on the liver.
