Biography
Simon Burrell is the Database Manager in the VICNISS Coordinating Centre. After an apprenticeship in Radio Trades (electronic engineering) he worked with Siemens in their Building Technologies division. It was there, back in 1996, he was first introduced to relational databases. Joining the VICNISS Coordinating Centre at its inception in 2002, he now leads a team in creating surveillance and reporting tools drawing on his experience in healthcare data modelling, messaging and software architecture. He has particular interests in presentation of data that allows for rapid and meaningful analysis.
