Biography

As a dedicated senior ecologist and project manager with twenty years of experience, I have developed and obtained a high level of technical expertise in flora and fauna surveys, environmental impact assessment and management, ecological monitoring, biodiversity constraint assessment and biodiversity offsetting. This experience has given me a thorough understanding of the interaction between environmental legislation, ecological processes and sustainable development. I apply my expertise to understand the client’s needs and manage the interaction between development and the environment to find the best solution for all stakeholders. In order to identify the best evidence-based solutions to complex environmental problems I ensure that a robust scientific methodology is applied to projects. I learn new environments and regulatory frameworks quickly and identify the relevant ecological and environmental issues for each project. I use my scientific expertise, knowledge of ecological process and research skills to identify questions and provide innovative and timely sustainable development solutions. I have worked for clients on a wide variety of projects in the gas and coal mining, infrastructure, urban development and planning, government and natural resource sectors across diverse ecosytems throughout eastern Australia, from Queensland to South Australia. I provide ecological advice and analysis for all stages of sustainable development projects, from planning and inception, through construction and post-construction. I also carry out peer reviews of ecological reports and have experience as a court appointed expert in the New South Wales Land and Environment Court. Excellent project management is the focus of each project I manage, which ensures high-quality deliverables that meet the needs of clients. This results in the best possible financial and sustainable development outcome for the client, the project and the environment.
