Biography
In 1976 I formed Ecotech and was appointed by Monitor Labs to distribute their range of analyzers in Australia. Ecotech quickly gained a reputation for quality products and services. Through working with local EPA's I quickly recognized that the data acquisition system being used in the early 1980s, weren't up to the task. I then created a project to develop the first Ecotech computer based data acquisition system. In the early 1990s this product evolved into one of the first true digital data acquisition systems, it was installed around Australia and throughout the world. Ecotech grew steadily throughout the 1980s and 90s and represented many of the world’s leading brands of instruments including Opsis and R&P (creators of the TEOM). In the late 1990s, I formed an agreement with Monitor Labs to provide Ecotech with a license to manufacture analyzers in Australia for export around the world. Ecotech manufactured and exported the ML9800 analyzers for several years before developing the EC9800 series of analyzers still in use today. In 2008 Ecotech released the new Serinus range of analyzers. Over the past 35 years I have seen Ecotech grow from a one man operation to now employing more than 100 staff. Along the way I and Ecotech have received numerous awards including in 2000 the Australian Clean Air award for significant contributions to the prevention of Atmospheric Pollution. I have conducted training courses on air quality monitoring for many prestigious organizations such as the U.S. EPA, Chinese Meteorological Agency, United Nations and many more. Robert is a NATA/ ISO/IEC17025 assessor of ambient air monitoring and and has perform audits for HK EPD, Ford motor Co, and several EPA.
