Biography
My skills are in Life Cycle Assessments, Renewable energy studies, District energy feasibility studies, Solar thermal detailed design, Sustainability master-planning consulting, Green building design consulting. Energy efficiency, Detailed building simulation and analysis Compliance with energy efficiency and environmental building codes/ legislation, Green Star and Walk through Building Audits. My favourite projects are projects where sustainability can be incorporated and scientifically assessed early in the design process, maximising the value to the project and society due to smart sustainable design decisions. Some examples of my project experience are below: Triple Bottom Line Evaluation: Sustainable Design Guidelines Version 4 – Edmondson Park Interchange Case Study. Transport for NSW’s Sustainable Design Guidelines (SDG) v4 were critically assessed for financial, environmental and social performance over a 50-year lifetime, using the Edmondson Park Interchange as a case study. The performance of each compulsory requirement of the new SDG v4 was confirmed and used to help inform further development of the SDG v4. High Capacity Metropolitan Train Bid, Melbourne, VIC. 65 new high capacity trains and a depot are to be developed as part of the project. The new train depot in Pakenham East will consist of a train maintenance facility and stabling yard. Two simulators and a service facility at Calder Park will also be developed. The Project is targeting an ISCA Excellent rating. St George Community Housing Westmead, Sydney, NSW. An 8000m² Community Housing project including an energy efficient design and a large photovoltaic system. The project is targeting a 5-star Green Star rating while delivering community and affordable housing. I studied at the University of New South Wales – BEng Renewable Energy Engineering (Hons). I am also a Green Star Accredited Professional and an ISCA Accredited Professional. Growing up on the South Coast of NSW, I always had a strong connection with the local natural environment. I decided at an early age that I was going to work in an industry that didn’t degrade the natural environment if I could help it. Studying renewable energy engineering at university coupled with an affection for architecture and design, I started working in sustainable building design and now as a sustainability consultant. I like to surf as much as possible, and also enjoy snowboarding when I get the chance. I’m a big sports fan with rugby league and soccer being my main focus. I also enjoy going to live music gigs, the movies or a nice restaurant whenever possible.
