Fang Zhao

Biography

Fang Zhao is a Professor in the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. Professor Fang Zhao is a passionate researcher with a successful track record mainly in the areas of e-government diffusion, entrepreneurship and innovation, and cross-cultural management and education. Her current research focuses on the rapidly growing phenomena in the digital economy – Digital Entrepreneurship and Smart Cities/Suburbs. She has published around 100 research works internationally, including a number of articles in high-impact journals such as Academy of Management Learning and Education; Information and Management; Internet Research, Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education, etc. She has authored and edited 3 research books. Professor Zhao has led and completed a large number of research projects funded by governments, industry/business and universities, including Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grant. She has chaired and organised around 20 international academic conferences and has served on 8 Editorial Boards of international refereed academic journals. Professor Zhao has worked as the Associate Dean – Management at School of Business and Law of Edith Cowan University, the Professor and Head of the School of Management and Public Administration of the University of the South Pacific, Fiji, and also the Professor and Acting Head of Management Department at the School of Business and Management (AACSB-Accredited) of American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Professor Zhao, being a Principle Supervisor, is currently supervising 2 PhD candidates. She has supervised 5 doctoral candidates to successful completion at RMIT University. Being a strong advocate for international mobility and education, she has extensive management education and teaching experience in Australia and overseas - China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Fiji.
