Biography
Hongqi is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering in the School of Engineering. He is also a Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Research Fellow. Associate Professor Sun received his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering at Nanjing University of Technology (China) in June 2008. Before joining Edith Cowan University as an Associate Professor through the campaign of ECU Professorial Research Fellowship, he had been working at Curtin University for over seven years, as a Research Fellow (2009), Curtin Research Fellow (2013), and Senior Research Fellow (2015). In early 2016, he joined ECU while remaining in the Adjunct Professor position at Curtin University. His research focuses on synthesis of nanostructured catalyst materials, such as shape-controlled metals or oxides, nanocarbons, arrays and quantum dots, for solar energy utilization and environmental remediation. So far he has published over 90 refereed journal papers and received over 2700 citations and reached a h-index of 32. He has also secured over two million dollars funding including two ARC discovery projects and four CRC projects. He serves as Associate Editor of RSC Advances, assessor of ARC, committee member of international conferences, and referee of international journals.
