Biography
Mark is an Associate Professor in Environmental Management within the School of Science and is Co-Principal of the Mine Water and Environment Research Centre. Current Teaching includes, I teach in the broad area of aquatic ecology, with an emphasis on aquatic chemistry and pollution at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I also teach in general ecology and environmental science. On occasions I cover experimental design and research methods. I supervise a range of students for individual and group projects.
Research Interest
My research interests are in applied aquatic ecology, with a focus on chemistry. This covers restoration/rehabilitation/management of these lakes. My other major interest is in mine pit lakes, everything from remediation of acid mine drainage, through to the establishment and encouragement of biological communities and issues around their closure.
