Biography
Dr Phil Dobson is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Law. Phil is a Member of the School's Centre for Innovative Practice. Dr Phil Dobson worked at a senior level for a number of large Australian mining companies before returning to academia in the mid 1980’s. He has a particular interest in the underlying philosophies of information systems research and has completed a PhD in the area. He is a senior editor for the philosophy stream for the International Journal of Information Technologies and Systems Approach (IJITSA) and for a Special Issue on Critical Realism for MIS Quarterly (2013). He was Chairman – Academic Review for the AIPM 2013 conference. He has been a reviewer for MIS Quarterly, ACIS, PACIS, American Journal of Evaluation, AJIS, and Organization amongst others. Course coordinator for MIS and/or Project Management courses (2003 – 2013). Acting course coordinator for MIS and PM (Semester 2 2015).
