Biography
Brian Derek Littlechild has been Independent Non-Executive Director of Energy World Corporation Limited., since May 2, 2001. He has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy from Nottingham University. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and was a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Member of American Society of Civil Engineers, Member of Academy of Experts and Editorial Panel Member of Geotechnique. He joined Ove Arup in 1972, and worked in Hong Kong for over 20 years, where he served as an associate director. He has 25 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He has authored numerous geotechnical and related papers. In particular, he led a major programme of testing of foundations in Hong Kong which subsequently formed the basis of a section of the new Code of Practice for Foundations in Hong Kong. His extensive experience in Hong Kong, China and the Philippines covers a large number of geotechnical projects including large power plants and infrastructure projects as well as major buildings.
