Biography
I have a hands-on approach to business. I'm innovative and with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic, highly motivated, energetic, focused and goal oriented. My interpersonal style is driver/analytical and personal profile high creative/dominance. I enjoy learning on a continual basis, am comfortable outside of my comfort zone and enjoy new challenges and change. Over 29+ years I have built extensive sales, marketing and product development experience in the healthcare market, with experience in medical devices/surgical/orthopeadics, pharmaceuticals and allied professions. While in South Africa I developed of a number of patent-able products for the cosmeceutical market, some of which are currently marketed in the RSA, UK and the continent. I have also developed a novel fuel additive for the diesel/hydrocarbon fuel market. I have extensive experience in product development, product management and marketing within the cosmeceuticals arena with a couple of 'world firsts'.....from startup to putting product on shelf. I held a Regional Sales Management position for a medical device company in Australia. I also have senior management experience gained in South Africa over a number of years and have owned my own company. My qualifications are in law, economics, industrial relations and marketing. Over the last 10+ years I have gained invaluable experience as a product specialist in the orthopaedic arena. In all I have worked with a variety of orthopaedic surgeons specialising in the following areas: elective - hip and knee replacement, sports medicine; trauma - hand and wrist; elbow and shoulder, foot and ankle. I have worked for Medartis since February 2013. My sales at Medartis for 2016 was 140% of target with a total growth of 70% over the previous year. My 2017 target is for 30% growth over last year. I am currently tracking at 111% of target or 43% growth for the year, as at end November 2017.
