Biography
Mr Shannon is a healthcare professional with over 25 years of product development experience in the wound care industry. A graduate in mathematics and science from Cornell University, he also completed a certificate in Cost-Effectiveness in Health and Medicine from Harvard University and an MPH in Epidemiology and Health Economics from the University Medical Dental School of New Jersey, School of Public Health. His career started in pharmaceutical sales for the Upjohn Company. He later became a Medical Researcher at the University of Vermont Medical School and a Statistician, Project Leader for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Orlando, Florida. His medical product development experience commenced when he joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1988, where he held various management positions in Biological and Product Development, Global Medical Affairs and Global Market Development. Mr Shannon is regarded as a thought leader in health economics and health services research related to new wound care technologies and has published extensively in relation to wound care cost effectiveness and patient outcomes.
