David Annells

Biography

 David Annells is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who completed his undergraduate training in 1988 and post-graduate qualifications in manipulative and sports physiotherapy in the early-90s. Over the years he worked in various capacities as a sports andmusculoskeletal physiotherapist and practice manager/owner. He was a SANFL physiotherapist for many years. He’s worked as tutor at the school of physiotherapy at UniSA, and physiotherapy advisor to worker’s compensation agents. For a number of years he’s been a RTWSA physiotherapy consultant. He’s continued to stay active in ongoing further education, both attending courses on a regular basis as well as lecturing.David has numerous professional interests around musculoskeletaldysfunction, injury and rehabilitation. The diagnosis and correction of postural problems using prescription exercise is one of those interests; this requires thorough examination and then patient education to empower with knowledge and tools to optimally self-manage the problem.  David’s other primary area of professional interest is in the management of injured workers; he provides treatment/rehabilitation services for injured workers to promote recovery and return to work. He also performs independent clinical assessments and other specialised return-to-work assessments and services, mainly in relation to recalcitrant workers compensation cases that do not appear to be progressing as expected, with objective to enlighten biopsychosocial barriers to recovery, and recommends best treatment approaches.David is currently working at our Cumberland Park clinic.
