Biography
I was born in one of the oldest cities in Europe, Sofia in Bulgaria, where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology. I moved to Australia and started my doctoral training at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in 2006, working on the chemoprevention of colorectal cancer. I fell in love with the vibe in the Institute and I decided to continue working here as a postdoctoral research officer. I have recently moved to the field of neuroscience and bioinformatics, learning the computational tools required to study the mechanisms of ageing in the brain and processes contributing to neurodegeneration. On a broader scale, bioinformatics tools enable me to research the origins and evolution of human cognition.
