Biography
Gillian Ray-Barruel, RN, PhD, is a nurse researcher with the Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research (AVATAR) group at Griffith University, Australia. Gillian has extensive experience in critical care nursing, patient assessment, project management, medical writing and editing, and clinical trials coordination. As principal investigator and study coordinator for the One Million Global Peripheral Intravenous Catheters study (OMG PIVC study), Gillian has established broad global networks among nurses interested in research, and she enjoys the collaborative, writing, and travel opportunities of her research career. Gillian’s research interests also include developing nursing research capacity, patient assessment, patient experience, medical humanities, and disability studies.
