Biography
Nick Kirkbride is Scott’s brother. Mr Kirkbride is a professional tennis coach and owner of Coastal Tennis. He is a strong advocate of sun awareness, particularly in sport, and provides ongoing support to the Kirkbride Centre’s fundraising activities. Mr Kirkbride joined the advisory committee after the loss of his father, Rob, who passed away suddenly in 2013.
Research Interest
Current research projects undertaken within the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research include the use of proteins to slow down and destroy tumours, the examination of genes that can prevent UV-induced melanoma and screening drug combinations (compound) to find a new compound with the ability to destroy melanoma cells.
