Biography
Dr Drummond completed her PhD studies in the area of testicular physiology. Her first appointment as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at Monash University combined teaching and research and it was during this period that her research focus turned to regulation of ovarian function. In 1994, she joined Prince Henry’s Institute (PHI) and since this time has pursued the roles of oestrogen and transforming growth factor-beta superfamily members in regulating ovarian follicle development. Her current research focuses on the regulation of folliculogenesis with an emphasis on local control mechanisms. The results of these studies will lead to a better understanding of and treatments for infertility, premature menopause and ovarian cancer and facilitate the development of new contraceptives.
Research Interest
