Dr. Gerd Folkers

Biography

Gerd Folkers has been Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at ETH Zurich since 1994 and is the Chair of the Collegium Helveticum since 2004. After he finished his pharmacy studies at Bonn University (1978) he obtained a Ph.D. in 1980. In 1989 he was nominated as Dozent and since 1991 he is full professor at the ETH Zurich. He was guest professor at the University of Napoli (Italy) and at the SISSA in Triest (Italy). Prof. Folkers is member of the scientific advisory board of several companies. His research interests are focused on computer-aided modeling and prediction of molecular interactions, on spectroscopical, biophysical, immunological and molecular biological methods for the testing modeling studies, and on quantum chemistry techniques in drug design.
