Biography
Helen Gibson joined Intrepid Geophysics in 2004 to work with GeoModeller software in addressing geological problem-solving. Using her commercial background, she has promoted the use of GeoModeller in a variety of technical industries: Minerals Exploration, Oil & Gas, Geothermal & Hydrogeology. She has also assisted the establishment of new geothermal & geophysical inversion modules. Helen has a BSc (Hons) Geology (1987) and a MSc in Geology (1993), both from the University of Melbourne. Following early work in gold exploration, she spent 12 years working for Geotrack International on commercial projects involving thermal and tectonic history reconstructions in petroleum terrains. Helen has authored over 60 client reports, and two regional studies for non-exclusive use in industry: thermal history reconstructions of central Australian basins; and heat flow modeling of the north Perth Basin. In recent years she has worked exclusively in an internal role as a Consulting Geologist for Intrepid. Since May 2013 she has taken on the role of Technical Sale Manager - though still maintains tasks in training & technical support.
