Jeremy Ellis

Biography

Mr. Jeremy (Jerry) Kitson Ellis is Non-Executive Director of Iron Road Ltd since December 20, 2010. Mr Ellis has had a long and distinguished career in business, particularly in the resources sector. Mr Ellis’ career included three decades at BHP Ltd, chairing the company from 1997 to 1999. He also served on the boards of a number of listed companies and governing bodies including Newcrest Mining, Aurora Gold, the International Copper Association, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, the International Council on Metals and the Environment and the American Mining Congress. Mr Ellis is a former Chancellor of Monash University, former President of the Minerals Council of Australia and former Chairman of the Australia-Japan Foundation and the Australian National Occupational Health and Safety Commission. He is also a member of the Sentient Advisory Council and is on the Advisory Board of Anglo Coal Australia. In 2012 Mr Ellis was elected Chairman of Alzheimer Australia NSW and in the 3 years immediately before the end of the financial year, Mr Ellis also served as a director of the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited. Mr Ellis is an Officer of the Order of Australia.
