Biography
William Hayden has been a director since March 2007. He is a geologist with over 35 years experience in the mineral exploration industry, much of which has been in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. He has been involved with Ivanhoe Mines since 1998, and served as its President from May 1998 to November 2001. Since 1986, Mr. Hayden has worked in a management capacity with several exploration and mining companies both in Australia and overseas. Mr. Hayden served as President of Ivanhoe Philippines, Inc. (which at the time was a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd., now Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd.) from July 2005 to December 2011. Mr. Hayden currently serves as a director of the following publicly listed companies: China Polymetallic Mining Ltd. (since November 2011), NovaCopper Inc. (since June 2015), Noble Metals Ltd. (since February 2011) and Globe Metals and Mining Ltd. (since November 2009). He served as a Non-Executive director of Ivanhoe Australia Ltd. from November 2006 to May 2010. Mr. Hayden holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geology from Sierra Nevada College, Nevada.
