Biography
Jan has extensive experience working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled health service sector in the development and implementation of substance misuse prevention and treatment projects. From 2007-2012 she combined research and clinical practice in tobacco cessation in the Top End Tobacco Project (TETP), a multi-component intervention study in remote Northern Territory Aboriginal communities. This was the focus of her doctoral studies. Research Interest
Remote-community based participatory research with a focus on reduction of substance misuse in Indigenous communities and development, implementation & evaluation of research translation strategies which inform policy development, clinical practice, and mobilsation of community action to reduce subance misuse and associated harms in remote Indigenous communities.
