Biography
Most of Prof. Sayer’s recent research has been on integrative science applied to the problems of reconciling conservation and development at large spatial scales through the use of landscape and ecosystem approaches. He has focussed on the conservation and development problems of tropical moist forests in the Congo Basin and South-East Asia. He also has a special interest in the environmental impacts of different strategies for feeding a world of 9 billion people whilst maintaining environmental values.
