  Dermot Cassidy - BSc (Hons) MBBS FRANZCO Specialty: Cataract, Corneal and Laser Refractive Surgery Dr Dermot Cassidy is an Ophthalmologist who is fellowship-trained in the medical and surgical treatment of Corneal Disease and Cataract surgery, including Laser Refractive Surgery and corneal transplantation. Dr Cassidy completed subspecialist fellowship training in Corneal surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne before undertaking a further fellowship in Corneal, External eye disease and Laser Refractive Surgery at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom. Dr Cassidy has an appointment as a consultant on the Corneal Unit and on the Acute Ophthalmology Service at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He has presented at international meetings and published in his area of subspecialty in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Cassidy has also recently published a book entitled Descemet's Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty – A Manual regarding endothelial corneal transplantation.
