Biography
Kate Rattray - BMED, SCI, MBBS (Hons) FRANZCO Dr Kate Rattray has returned home from specialist LASIK training in Canada to practice with Hobart Eye Surgeons. Kate was born in Tasmania and studied medicine at the University of Tasmania, where she graduated with first class honours and several awards and prizes. Kate studied ophthalmology both in the UK and at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She then went on to complete a fellowship (advanced training) in glaucoma. Kate has been involved in international glaucoma trials, genetic research and has recenlty been working on changes in corneal curvature with cataract surgery.Kate also worked as a volunteer opthalmologist with a team of Australian and New Zealand doctors in Tonga in 2006. Dr Rattray understands that undertaking laser refractive surgery is an important decision and gives her patients all the time they need to fully understand their surgical options.
