Gavin Walker

Biography

 Gavin Walker has had a long career in investment banking, having previously held the roles of Chief Executive of Bankers Trust Australia Investment Bank and member of the Business Council of Bankers Trust Company in New York Mr Walker was appointed to the Board of Lion in March 2000 and is a member of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee. In addition, Mr Walker is Chairman of Kirin’s International Advisory Board. Other current directorships include; Chairman of ASB Bank (the New Zealand subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA)), Chairman of Sovereign Insurance (a New Zealand health and life insurance business owned the CBA). Gavin is also Chairman of  Commonwealth Securities which is the largest on-line retail stock broking business in Australasia. Mr Walker is Deputy Chairman of the Guardians of the New Zealand Superannuation Fund; a government agency responsible for managing assets of NZD 20 billion to fund future government superannuation liabilities.
