Biography
Prof. Robert Bartlett Elliott, MBBS, M.D., FRACP, was Director of Living Cell Technologies Ltd. He was its Acting Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director. He was appointed as Chairman of the Board from November 18, 2010 until July 20, 2011. He was trained as a Paediatric at Adelaide University. He moved to New Zealand in 1970 to become the Foundation Professor at the Department of Paediatrics of University of Auckland. He co-founded LCT and is an Emeritus Professor of Child Health research, Professor of Paediatrics and in diabetes and autoimmune related research. He is on the board of the New Zealand Child Health Foundation and the Wings Trust (a NZ trust for the treatment of alcohol and substance abuse). He is also patron of the NZ Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In 1999, he was awarded a CNZM (a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit) for services to the community. He is a Director of Somnaceutics Ltd and Breathe Easy Ltd, a NZ company that is developing a new treatment for Cystic Fibrosis.
