Biography
Alec Morgan has a PhD in media and communications from Macquarie University and is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Media, Music, Communications and Cultural Studies. His major research project Visual Songlines: Contemporary Aboriginal filmmakers, cultural transference and their links to traditional Indigenous knowledge systems investigates how Aboriginal filmmakers contribute towards the re-building of the fragile “invisible” pathway of interconnected cultural laws, customs and history that traditionally bonded Aboriginal people across Australia which was traumatically disrupted by the arrival of Europeans.
