Biography
Brangwen Stone is an Associate Lecturer in German Studies. She completed her Ph.D. at Yale University in 2011. She also has a Master of Arts and a Master of Philosophy from Yale, and a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from The University of Melbourne. She taught in the German programs at The University of Melbourne and The University of Sydney before coming to Macquarie.
Research Interest
Her research interests include Central and Eastern Europe in German literature and film, German-language writers from Central and Eastern Europe, GDR literature, post-reunification literature and contemporary German drama. Her monograph Heimkehr? Narratives of Return to Germany's Former Eastern Territories 1965-2001 (2016) explores narratives of homecoming to Central and Eastern Europe in four clusters of German-language literature and film from the post-war period to the present. She teaches German language and German Studies at Macquarie.
