Biography

Frank Siciliano holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Applied Economic Geography from UNSW and a PostGrad Diploma of Enviornmental Studies from MQ. Frank works in a number of diverse areas including environmental health, population health, ageing geodemographics, Indigenous health and welfare as well as natural hazards. He has a particular interest in the social, economic and environmental status of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the face of growing populations and urbanisation especially in the Pacific Islands Countries and Territories as well as the Republic of the Maldives. In terms of skills, Frank has a strong focus on the quantitative data cycle - collection, validation, analysis and presentation - and the application of GIS tools to visualise and analyse demographic, economic and environmental information and statistical indicators. Frank has worked in a number of Local, State and Commonwealth government agencies in addition to international development projects mainly in the Pacific Islands region. Organisations concerned with urban and regional planning and policy making, health and community service planning and research, statistical capacity building and technical assistance have been his main areas of employment.
