Biography
Grant Michelson is Head/Chair of the Department of Marketing and Management at Macquarie University. He has previously served as Associate Dean of Research and Higher Degrees in the Faculty of Business and Law at ECU in Perth and had strategic oversight of the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2015 submission which saw significant improvement in key areas such as marketing, tourism, and business and management. He worked in Perth for over three years. Prior to this he was Associate Professor, then Professor and Director of Research at Audencia Business School in France from 2008 until mid-2012, and among different activities managed numerous national and international accreditations. Prior to moving to France he worked for 12 years in the Business School at the University of Sydney. While there, he helped to establish the Business and Professional Ethics Group (BPEG) and was its founding convenor. Grant has held a range of visiting positions including those at Texas A&M University and Copenhagen Business School and he currently serves on the research advisory board at EADA Business School in Barcelona. He has also been an adjunct lecturer for the University of Southampton teaching corporate social responsibility in Singapore. Prior to gaining his educational qualifications, he began his working life in the meat export industry in New Zealand (clerical, audit and procurement related functions) before shifting to local government. He has an academic background in work and employment relations, business ethics and organisational behaviour.
