Biography
Joanne Mulligan is Professor of Education specialising in mathematics and science education from early childhood to secondary level. Her 25 years' contribution to Macquarie University includes coordination of the Primary Teacher Education Program and Associate Director of the divisional Centre for Research in Mathematics and Science Education (CRiMSE). Joanne's current role is Project Leader of the Opening Real Science (ORS) Project, a collaborative cross-institutional project focused on improving primary and secondary teacher education programs. Joanne's interest is in the evaluation of an enquiry-based model promoting scientific and mathematical thinking in pre-service students and improving their confidence and competence in mathematics and science. She also lectures in mathematics and science education in the Department of Educational Studies and supervises Higher Degree Research students.
