Biography
Florence develops and delivers the newly designed English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program, which currently includes EFLA100 (EFL in Practice), EFLA110 (EFL Consolidation), EFLA201 (EFL Expansion I), and EFLA202 (EFL Expansion II).
Research Interest
Florence is passionate about conducting research in the field of TESOL. She has published papers in top-tier journals such as TESOL Quarterly, and Linguistics and Education. She is an Editorial Board member of TESOL Quarterly and regularly reviews articles for several other peer-reviewed journals. She completed her PhD in Linguistics at this university in 2011 and received the Higher Degree Research Excellence Award. The research project investigated the perceptions of native and non-native English speaking teachers (NNESTs) in Hong Kong using mixed research methods. Her research interests include a wide range of areas in TESOL, for example, NNESTs issues, the use of L1, language teacher education, bilingualism, and academic literacy.
