Biography
Dr Laurie Field was appointed Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University in 2005. Before that, he was a Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney for more than a decade. He is the author of four books, Skilling Australia, Training for Competence (with D Drysdale), Skills Training for Tomorrow's Workforce and Managing Organisational Learning, and a number of papers and reports addressing organisational issues, particularly relating to work-based learning, performance management and the interests of organisational members. His PhD (Macquarie Graduate School of Management 2001) looked at learning during human resource management change. Between 1990 and 2010, in parallel with academic activities, Laurie conducted a consulting practice in areas relating to learning and change in both the public and private sectors, including a number of educational organisations.
