Biography
Mr Peter Hibbert (B.App.Sc (Physio), Grad.Dip. Comp, Grad.Dip. Econ, FAAQHC) is Program Manager, Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Macquarie University where he manages a $10.8 million grant researching translating safe care into practice. He also is the stream lead for conducting appropriateness of care studies in the Institute’s Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science. Prior to this role, he was the Associate Director of Patient Safety at the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA), London, United Kingdom where he led and managed clinical teams to reduce preventable patient harm in health care across England and Wales. He was the Program Director for “Matching Michigan” at the time, the largest central line bloodstream infection reduction program in the world comprising over 200 intensive care units across England. The accompanying editorial to this peer-reviewed paper states that "Matching Michigan will remain a model in the years ahead of how large, well-designed studies advance the science of patient safety."
