Biography

Dr Nazmul Huda is a Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering. His research interests include Sustainable energy systems for novel engineering applications, High temperature processing, CFD modelling of high temperature systems, energy materials, solar thermal processing, extractive metallurgy of light metals and renewable energy. He completed a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and then continued his postgraduate research leading to a Ph.D. at the Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. Prior to joining at Macquarie University, he worked as Postdoctoral research fellow for nearly two years on a number of projects funded by CSIRO Cluster: Breakthrough Technology for primary Aluminum production and Outotec Pty. Ltd., Espoo, Finland. He was awarded "EPD Science Award 2014" for outstanding contribution to scientific understanding of the non-ferrous process metallurgy, awarded by The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) in San Diego Convention Centre, San Diego, California, USA, on the 18th February 2014. He attended many international conferences and chaired a number of sessions. He is also a reviewer of a number of world renowned scientific journals. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Australasian Association of Engineering Education (AAEE) and a number of international professional organisations.

Energy Optimisation and Renewable Energy; Solar thermal techonologies; E-waste recycling and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA); Minerals Processing and extractive metallurgy; Industrial Process modelling and sustainability; Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Modelling of high temperature processes; Engineering Educational Research.
