Biography
Paul Byron teaches in gender studies, the sociology of intimacy and friendship, and media and digital cultures. He’s currently researching informal knowledge networks among gender and sexuality diverse young people (particularly the use of Tumblr), digital friendship intimacies, health promotion’s engagement with digital media cultures, and everyday negotiations of dating/hook-up apps. He has mostly published on the role of friendship intimacies in young people’s negotiations of sexual health.
