Biography
Biological engineer with diverse research experience ranging from chlorophyll biosynthesis to designing and building synthetic virus genomes. Proven track record in scientific publications, mentoring and leadership.
Research Interest
The Jaschke Lab bridges the fields of Synthetic Biology, Microbiology, Virology, and Systems Biology to answer fundamental questions of: (1) how to discover all the components necessary to make a functional genome? (2) how to reconfigure these components to make engineered genomes more reliable and predictable? (3) how to engineer biology to benefit human health and reduce impacts on our environment? We aim to answer important questions by pioneering the science and engineering of synthetic genomes by designing, building, testing, and learning from our designs.
