Biography
Appointed Chief Pathologist for NSW Health Pathology in April 2013 following 12 years as the Director of the SEALS pathology network based at Prince of Wales Hospital and 5 years as Director of the Nepean & Blue Mountains Pathology Service. Prior to that he was a consultant Clinical Microbiologist at Royal Perth Hospital from 1986-1996. His current role includes responsibility for NSW Health Pathology’s involvement in the Ministry of Health’s state-wide biobanking initiative and for NSW Health Pathology’s Research & Innovation strategy. Roger is a Fellow of RCPA (Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia) and RACMA (Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators) and is currently an RCPA Board Director. He has an appointment as Conjoint Professor in the School of Medical Sciences at UNSW and represents NSW Health on the Commonwealth’s National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council and Chairs its Strategy and Risk Committee. He is also a member of a several other Commonwealth and NSW government working parties and committees across a range of programs.
